Seafood/fisherman soup

This is a variation of fisherman soup and can be taken like pepper soup or with agidi. The tomato serves a bit like a slight thickener for the soup.

Ingredients

  • 700g ngolo
  • 600g shiny-nose fish chunk
  • 1kg crabs with claws
  • 10ml palm oil
  • 1 Medium onions (sliced)
  • 2 pieces yellow scotch bonnet pepper (blended)
  • 1 piece green scotch bonnet pepper (blended)
  • 1 Large tomato (blended)
  • 700g shrimps/big prawns
  • seasoning
  • salt
  • 2 pieces red scotch bonnet pepper (blended)
  • 1 handful uziza leaves (sliced)

Note

Directions

Step 1
blend the tomato and peppers smooth and set aside
Step 2
clean the sea foods as well and set aside
Step 3
pour the ngolo in a pot and add water and little salt and boil for 10minutes then drain out water and set aside
Step 4
place a deep pot on heat and add the palm oil then allow to heat up a bit for 2-3 minutes
Step 5
then reduce the heat add the sliced onion and stir fry for 1 minute
Step 6
then pour in the blended tomato and pepper
Step 7
stir and add a cup of water and cover to boil for 3 minutes
Step 8
add seasoning and salt and add the crabs then cover to cook for 5 minutes. Then pour in the ngolo and cover to boil for a minute
Step 9
add the fish and cover to cook for 6-7 minutes and add some more water (little)
Step 10
taste for seasoning and add the shrimps and prawns
Step 11
then sprinkle in the sliced uziza leaves and let it cook for another 5 minutes for seasoning and set down
