  • 2 leaves utazi (sliced)
  • 2 leaves uziza (sliced)
  • 1 piece uda spice (hit and remove seeds)
  • 3 pieces ehuru seeds (hit and remove outer shell and grind inner)
  • 4 medium slices yam (for thickening(boil and pound))
  • 1kg goat meat/goat intestines
  • 1 tablespoon ghana pepper (grinded)
  • 1 teaspoon ogiri
  • 1 Small onion bulb (sliced)
  • salt
  • seasoning


Step 1
boil yam and pound or blend with a food processor to a paste. Do not add water and set aside
Step 2
par boil your meat with seasoning, salt and onion until half way cooked
then add the uyayak spice
Step 3
add the grinder uziza seed and ehuru seed
Step 4
add the ghana pepper
Step 5
add the ogiri
Step 6
drop in the uda spice and cover to boil for 3 minutes
Step 7
scoop the yam paste into the pot without stirring
Step 8
cover to cook for 2 minutes
Step 9
after 2 minutes, open the pot and stir properly
Step 10
add the sliced utazi and uziza leaves and stir
allow to cook for 2 minutes

    • For isiewu you have to pound the brain of the goat with some palm oil and litte pinch of potash in a mortar until smooth. After boiling the pieced goathead with salt and seasoning until the stock is almost driedup, add some grinded ehuru seeds, stir and add the pounded brain, mix well. Allow to cook for 15-18mins
